Family/ Caretaker Involvement
- Many times this population lives with their family or caretakers and will often discuss career options at home. If the client feels that it could help them, invite their family or caretakers to a session.

I understand that late adolescence is a stressful time and involves lots of change and important decisions. As I was already established in college before the pandemic, my personal experience in figuring out what direction I wanted to go after high school was not directly impacted by COVID. I feel grateful to have been in that position as it would have been an additional stressor.

I noted the significant shift towards remote work, which has become increasingly popular as an option. This shift is an additional factor that should be taken into consideration when planning their career path.

I also realized how much my computer and technology skills have improved due to the pandemic which has helped me in many ways!

While I was already a freshman in college when the pandemic broke out, I still can understand how the pandemic might have influenced career decisions for high schoolers. After having time to myself to think about my future I actually ended up switching my major which led me to where I am today. If I had been in high school, I imagine there would have been even more stress when thinking about these important decisions.

An important term I learned from this project was Zeteophobia. Zeteophobia is described as an intense anxiety related to exploring ones career choices and eventually, making a career decision. There could have been an added pressure during the pandemic since many opportunities such as shadowing or interning were not available.

Another huge change I noticed in high school was the shift and emphasis of technology. After my research for this project I found many late adolescents drawn to the idea of remote work for their future. Especially since after the pandemic, many high schoolers became experts with conducting their work on technology.

Considering the pandemic's impact on career guidance for late adolescents, I'm relieved that I was in my last year of college when it hit. It meant I wasn't as stressed about making career decisions during such uncertain times. Technology played a huge role in helping me cope with the challenges of the pandemic, making things like remote learning and staying connected much easier.

The rise of remote work culture has been a significant shift that I've noticed during this time. It's got me thinking about the future of work and how I can adapt to this new way of doing things when planning my career path. On a personal level, I've gained some valuable skills and experiences during this period that have had a positive impact on various aspects of my life.

Overall, while the pandemic has brought its fair share of challenges, it's also taught me resilience and adaptability. It's shown me that even in the face of adversity, there are opportunities for growth and learning that can enrich my future career journey
