This is significant because the man with the unclean spirit was listening to what was being said and called out to Jesus to follow and listen to Him.

Jesus told a parable of a sower scattering his seed. Some seeds fell on the path and were eaten by birds, some seeds fell on rocky earth and grew quickly but when the sun rose they were scorched, some seeds fell among thorns and were choked out, and some seeds fell on good soil and were fruitful. When they didn't understand He explained to the twelve that the seed was like the Word of God and the soil was like our hearts. This parable is significant because through it Jesus tells us that our hearts must be ready to accept the Word of God.

In this event, they gave Jesus a wine that was drugged up with myrrh but He didn't drink of it. Then they crucified Him and divided up all of His garments. They crucified Him at 9 am. This is significant because of how He delt with the mockings and how so many did at a point where He knows He is about to die and be crucified. Also hearing that He saves others, but He can't save himself and the people he was also getting crucified next to were also abusing Him. This event is significant because it is the moment where Jesus makes the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.

Reading through this gospel it really stood out to us how important it is to have complete faith in God if we want to be followers of Christ. At the beginning of Mark many people were healed because of their full faith in the power of Jesus. When Jesus was walking on water He called Peter to trust in Him and Peter only fell when he became afraid. This gospel has challenged us to trust more in God's plan for our lives.
