Eat it before it rots, I hear.

Yet, still unaware, I dream. 
Building castles out of sand, in the clouds, underwater mystery lands ready for my picking.

I make myself a treasure map and diligently rush along.
Eventually, my world's collapse.

Drifting freely in the salt, I can feel their many threads. 
Sometimes obvious, sometimes fun, often pushing me under, always scraping my skin hard once I'm down.

Eventually, I breathe again.
Take a turn, make a move, erase the roads not taken.

Labels, narratives, roots, paradigms, worldviews, threads, images, hair, stories crisscrossing myself.
Slowly, I'm learning their names. My body getting attuned to the weight of their push, the sharpness of their sudden pulls.

All is so soft, both fate and calculations eluding me.
