In the picture, it is clear that a small group of students are working together, helping each rother learn, while building on your own individual prior knowledge.
ADVANTAGES OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING:
1.) Learners learn how to respect each others' views and opinions.
2.) They encourage each other to speak and help one another learn.
3.) It is the perfect opportunity for learners to offer solutions to problems and
4) To contribute their own research (or gain a better understanding) about a certain/new topic.

BEST TYPE OF ERROR CORRECTION STRATEGRIES (for learners to develop language skills):
1.) Recast: When the teacher makes an implicit correction of what the learner said by means of reformulation. e.g. I want swim. Do you want to swim? Where do you want to swim?
2.) Elicitation: The technique of asking for completion, e.g. We use a question mark at the end of a ..... ?
3.) Clarification Request: Asking the learners to give an example of what they mean, without drawing attention to the error.

I believe that teachers should be a facilitator of the learning process and should no longer be seen as the only source of information in a classroom environment.
The classroom should create the perfect, relaxed, motivated, inspiring and safe learning environment for the learners to take responsibility for their own learning process, while comfortably engaging with their peers and the teacher.
Learning something new is suppose to be exciting and not a scary process. The feedback should be positive, constructive and beneficial for the learners. There should be mutual rules and respect for the teacher and the learners, so that there can be accountability within the classroom (for both sides).

Learning is an everlasting, ongoing process!
Constructivism is a great learning/teaching approach. When learners enter your classroom, they are not a clean slate, but rather contains their own experiences and ideas regarding certain topics and concepts.
- It is therefore important to identify what the learners already know, before you start a lesson on a specific topic.
- Cooperative learning IS essential, for this is the perfect opportunity for learners to share opinions, receive input and hear how others think about a certain topic.

The Communicative Approach is more about succeeding in making yourself understood, expressing yourself and your opinion in such a way that the other person can still understand what you are trying to say.
- It focusses on FLUENCY of language, rather than the ACCURACY (associated with structure and grammatical rules)
- I believe proper communication is neglected in schools, since so much pressure is put onto perfection and memorisation, rather than understanding and proper communication.
- Teachers should make use of informal communication opportunities, for e.g. Role Play activities where learners receive a scenario and a specific role, so that they can practice the proper discourse and strategic competence.
