What does it mean to be a good man? Is being a good man different than simply being a good human being? Discussions of "toxic masculinity" have left some men feeling free to break bad patterns and others feeling like they are unwelcome in the world as men. Is there a specific vision of positive masculinity or are men being asked to make themselves smaller and less distinctive? 

Our resolution is intended to put the spotlight on one of the most controversial elements of masculinity—the appetite for risk, comfort with physical danger, and aggression that can lead to violence or to taking charge in a crisis. We want to hear from people with very different visions of what healthy masculinity looks like as we debate when and whether aggression can be part of being a good man.
