Wants: ideas on how to build capacity across the school, including our wonderful specialist subject teachers, to take a playful stance towards learning, specifically literacy-- all teacher are language teachers!

It felt freeing and fun. Leaning on my creative skills and also what I know about how a story goes. I knew I needed characters and some sort of setting and action that my characters were participating in. I loved using the pieces from my surroundings like the shells and the flowers. That felt important to me as a storyteller.

In the classroom tinkerspace, the kids use The Gruffalo's Child book as a reference to create their Gruffalo habitats - as they do this, they say favorite lines from the book - they have so enjoyed having many different entries to their literacy experiences.
