How does this relate to current studies of genetics

Mendel used natural selection to help explain the process of heredity. Part of heredity that also became a concept was heterogeneous and homologous genes. This relates to the reproduction of humans because the dominant traits are visible although they still carry the recessive traits meaning their offspring could present that trait.

Mendel discovered heredity and how traits are passed down. He discovered this by taking a a green pea and mixing it with a yellow pea. The offspring were yellow which meant that the yellow trait masked the green trait therefore only showing the yellow.
