The attached Responsible Use Policy Template is provided as a starting point for schools to create their own version, knowing that every international school context will have different considerations, both legal and cultural. As such, the template is provided for easy adaptation. We hope this resource will help schools purposely manage the responsible application of innovative technologies.

The report surveyed more than 1,000 companies around the world – representing 22 industry clusters and more than 14 million workers – to take the pulse of the job market and uncover how organizations expect it to evolve between now and 2030. According to the surveyed executives, the three fastest-growing jobs in percentage terms are big data specialists, fintech engineers and AI and machine learning specialists. A huge 86% of respondents to the survey expected AI and information processing technologies to transform their business by 2030.

   Why acceptable: AI helps broaden the student’s thinking, supporting deeper engagement and learning.

3. Developing Research Questions with Teacher Guidance
   A student works with their teacher to craft a research question and uses AI to generate sample questions for inspiration, tailoring the final question to their interests.
   Why acceptable: Collaboration ensures authenticity and personal engagement.

4. Using AI for Grammar and Style Improvements
   A student uses AI tools to proofread and improve grammar while maintaining their original ideas, informing the teacher of this use.
   Why acceptable: AI supports clarity without replacing the student’s work.

5. Getting AI Feedback on Drafts
   A student uses AI to receive feedback on a draft and revises their work accordingly before submitting to their teacher.

6. Submitting AI-Written Essays
   A student asks AI to write an entire essay and submits it as their own.
   Why not acceptable: This misrepresents authorship and bypasses critical learning.

7. Copying AI-Generated Quotes Without Verification
   A student copies quotes suggested by AI without reading or understanding the original sources.
   Why not acceptable: The student fails to critically engage with references, undermining learning integrity.

8. Using AI to Rewrite an Essay Without Disclosure
   A student writes an essay, then uses AI to rewrite it entirely without informing the teacher.
   Why not acceptable: This conceals the extent of AI use and violates transparency.

9. Translating Work with AI to Mask Language Proficiency
   A student writes an essay in their native language and uses AI to translate it into the assessment language without demonstrating proficiency.
   Why not acceptable: It misrepresents language skills and assessment standards.

10. Hiding AI Use from Teachers
    A student uses AI extensively but does not disclose this to their teacher when submitting work.
    Why not acceptable: Ethical AI use requires transparency to maintain trust and academic integrity.
