This year, students of our school chose Aleksandra Szymula (first from the left) to be the president of a student council.  Gabriela Szajewska and Aleksandra Twarowska became vice presidents.

Before the elections candidates presented their programmes, met with students, answered their questions.

Finally, in September the elections were held. All the eligible students from the 4th, 5th and 6th grade voted in them.

In order to celebrate the  International Earth Day, student council  organized the day of colours. There were many things happening - charity fairs, nativity plays, Christmas Songs contests and also the elections of the best Santa Claus costume organized by our school parliament. After the first term and again at the end of the school year, the student council held the elections of a super-friend. In February, when love is in the air, our student council organized a Love Song Competition. It was also the opportunity to organize a charity event to raise money for children in Africa. Students together with teachers prepared a fair with Valentine's decorations and cards. Whoever wanted to send a Valentine card to their friends or sweethearts bought a special card and threw it into a special box. When the spring begins in Poland students celebrate it by having a so-called Truant's Day. Then,  they miss their classes to walk around the city and enjoy the first warm days.

Each class had to prepare a stall where they sold various types of baking: bread, cakes, buns, doughnuts and so on and so forth. 
Its purpose was to collect money to fund a monument of the Siberian mother. Their main destination was to visit the national parliament and learn about its organization and role. They were able to see both chambers  - lower and upper. They learnt about bicameral system of legislature and about the parties which sit in the parliament. They also had a lesson on the history of Polish parliament which dates back to 1791 when the Constitution of May 3 was implemented. That was one of the project's tasks - to show the school council that their job now is just the first step in the parliamentary career ladder :-) Some of the students, stepping out of the National Parliament, turned round and said: "I'll be back!" :-)
