Students love the drawings. I enjoy giving out the tickets. Some of my students are certainly challenged by Zone 0 in the hall, and zone 1 in the bathroom, but they are challenged by talking in general. Some students in the school certainly know how to game the system, but I do feel it is effective, schoolwide.

Our students have improved immensely since the beginning of the year. They have really adapted to PBIS. MY team loves it and I think the kids are happier also because it is more structured in the halls. It helps those students with sensory issues as well. It is difficult for the teachers to do a zone 0 in the hall though

Win-win!
Grow: Having the blue tickets on hand is a growth for me, I am guilty of telling students I owe them a blue ticket and oops, that is me talking. A new year's resolution for me....have blue tickets when I leave the classroom and refrain from talking in the hallway! :)

GLOW: The fifth graders are quiet ALL the TIME -- it's hard to give out just one or two blue tickets! I like to walk around during my break sometimes and give out blue tickets to kids who are in the hallway alone, in the restrooms alone etc. They love that!

Glow: My students love the blue tickets and are very motivated, especially in the hallway, to receive them. They are excited when someone is chosen from our class to go down to the office (even if it's not their ticket that was chosen). They are even excited to see the hundreds board every time we walk by to see whose name has been added.

Grow: I have become more relaxed on being zone 0 for myself. I think it's important for students to receive praise/feedback in the hallway, and it's not always as easy to give that silently. It is also hard for me to stay zone 0 if other teachers are around because I will think of a questions I have, etc. I am the one who needs to grow, but I think my students are doing a great job overall!

I've noticed that as the semester went on that they were more comfortable to talk in the hallways.
I will be more focused on not talking when I go down the hall. I will be honest...its very hard for me to pass someone and not say hello or how are you as we pass.

Glow: Blue tickets are working! As soon as I begin to hand one out, the line straightens up (as in starts to get quiet). Definitely will begin rewarding (and already have) blue-ticket students in class.
