I think about people I've known who embrace change in their lives and world. It clearly is a mindset or even a habit for them. The most important part of this habit from what I have seen is knowledge. Learning about the change and about yourself in reaction to the change demystifies it. The number one thing I see in people who are challenged by change is fear. Knowledge can tame fear.

Change is difficult, hard, scary and sometimes life changing. Even something as simple as a change in your day to day schedule can be a little nerve wrecking. I think the biggest take away I took from this article is, that with information, respect of peoples feelings, especially when they receive the news of new implementations, and a voice to be able to freely state their concerns and addressed by those who are in charge of delivering changes to policies, procedures, etc is a good way to build trust and ease resistance to the new implementations in place. Communication is key and essential for the progression and growth of any organization.

The main takeaway I got from the article is that while change can be difficult, it doesn't have to be. We can shift our mindset from thinking that change is difficult, costly, and weird, to the mindset that it is easy (doable), rewarding, and normal. This shift can be made easier with a strong leader/strong leaders who are willing to support their team through the process by acknowledging that change can be hard, but the mindset shift is made easier with the right tools and information.
