Reflect( ); They feel like they won't be good enough in the class and meet expectations . They also think about what others think of them and possibly the teacher. However, over time, they realized that everyone is the same way and don't think they fit in. They start to feel more welcome and realize it's ok to ask questions and a little help goes a long way.

It is not a shame to harbor feelings of fear or anxiety. However, to adapt is also human nature. The ability to overcome the challenges that life gives us, from the most trivial to problems that bring down nations, and still be able to come out stronger for it is why humanity as a whole has been able to progress so quickly down our evolutionary path. 

When a student enters a class for the first time, when they encounter a subject for the first time, they are acutely aware of how limited their knowledge is. Computer science is no different, and perhaps even worse because for many in the field it comes with the implication of what kind of person you should be to pursue the field. When a student walks into a room and sees the people around them moving forwards and dealing with concepts that they do not yet understand, they feel isolated and alone, even though the majority of people are, in fact, just like. them. But as they themselves begin to understand the concepts that once terrified them at the beginning, they can adapt to the environment that they find themselves in, and then truly begin learning.

Knowledge is power. If a student knows that they are not alone in their struggle, that they are not the only one that feels left behind or alone or lost, then they will feel empowered to work together to improve themselves, free from the fear of rejection once they are exposed for supposed incompetence. This is as true in computer science as any other field.

Knowledge takes time. Be patient and you will see the world for what it is.
