These could all cause a child to face potential bias and could cause them to grow up insecure or wish they could change. In the article by the NAEYC they discuss how when teachers hold implicit biases it negatively affects their students. They talk about how it creates a feeling of mutual respect and helps students feel more supported. By using cultural competency in my classroom it will ensure that all of my students feel supported and listened to. They will all feel welcome because I will ensure they they are all included and that we celebrate our differences in cultures.</p>]]></description>
