In his role as chief executive officer of the company, he oversees all strategic planning, financial direction, and general operations; in addition, he maintains separate responsibilities as the company’s chief compliance officer. Raji (R.J.) Zaher’s specific duties at 5 PLY center on guiding the firm in filling the need for personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical personnel. According to Mr. Zaher, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, China produced more than half the world’s protective masks, and it has since expanded its production by 12 times. Recognizing that exporting issues and other problems were still causing mask shortages worldwide, Mr. Zaher’s company stepped in.
