- Trust vs Mistrust is the first stage in Erikson's stages of development. It is where children go through a period of time where they have to rely on their caregivers, like their mother, to take care of them. Depending on whether the child is taken care of well or not determines whether they develop trust or mistrust.
- They resolved this stage by being well taken care of and developing trust for their mother.
- She resolved this stage with trust. When she was a baby, she was unable to take care of her needs by herself. She couldn't feed herself, go to the bathroom, or bathe herself. She had to rely on her mom to do it for her and her mom made sure that she took care of all of her needs. This resulted in her developing trust for this stage. According to the book, "the critical element in developing trust is sensitive, responsive, and consistent caregiving."

- Autonomy vs Shame and Doubt is the second stage in Eriksons' stages of development. This stage is where children begin to make choices for themselves. They gain independence and start to do things on their own.
- She resolved this crisis by learning to do things herself. She no longer needed to rely on her mom to do everything for her.
- She could now somewhat feed herself, choose what clothes she wanted to wear, and think of what she wanted to do that day. She could also tell somebody when she didn't want to do something. The book states that "as children are better able to make their wishes understood, they become more powerful and independent."

- Initiative vs Guilt is the third stage of Erikson's stages of development. This is the stage where children start to ask themselves if they're good or bad. In this stage, children want to do a lot, but they also learn if what they want to do is good or bad.
- She resolved this stage by beginning to understand when something is good or alright to do, and when it's bad to do something. She developed guilt.
- She feels guilty when she knows she's done something wrong. She'll apologize and feel bad when she understands. She won't keep doing something she knows is wrong. As the book states, "If you feel ashamed after being caught doing something others think is bad, that might keep you from doing it again."

- Industry vs Inferiority is the fourth stage of Erikson's stages of development. In this stage, children are beginning to learn more and more. They're reading, doing math, and going to school. Teachers and parents are very important in this stage because how they react to the children results in industry or inferiority happening.
- She has not reached this stage yet. However, once she does this stage could be resolved by her learning. Once she's learned more, her parents and teachers will support her and acknowledge that she understands.
- Once she has reached this stage, she will learn to read, write, and do more math. Her parents and teachers will show her that she's doing well, and this will lead to her feeling confident and industrious. It's important she is supported and praised because according to the book, "If children are unable to obtain the praise of others or lack motivation and self-esteem, they may develop a feeling of low self-worth and thus develop a sense of inferiority."
