  • As a newborn Blake showed excellent rooting, grasping, and stepping reflexes which led him to be very active as a child. Now that he is adolescent he still remains active by playing soccer.
  • During adolescence, the brain gains the need for rewards and creates reward-seeking behaviors. Soccer is his way of gaining those rewards by winning games and scoring points.

  • The Flynn effect is the increase in IQ scores due to improvements in the environment.
  • Even though Blake's family is often not around, he still has a healthy home, contributing to a higher IQ score.

  • For Blake, his focus on school, work, and soccer puts his creativity on hold.

  • As an infant Blake’s hearing capabilities are well but he is frightened by noises that are loud. He will then turn away from them and then go toward noises that are softer. 
  • Now that Blake is an adolescent, he is no longer afraid of loud noises and listens to his music through his earphones throughout the day on max volume and eventually gets temporary tinnitus.

    B. Bradford Brown’s dating theory advocates that romantic relationships during adolescents evolve during four stages:
    • Initiation phase

    • Affection phase
    • Bonding phase

    The Affection phase development of dating during late adolescence is when the concentration is centered on the relationship instead of peer social status or self-concept. Romantic relationships evolve into more intimate and affectionate connections.
