The Book that I read was Around The World In 80 Days, by Jules Verne. It consisted of a great plot, vivid descriptions, very old English and some interesting decisions.

Of Course getting Around the World in 80 days today, is no big feat, but in the 1870's that was impossible. The Book that I read was Around The World In 80 Days, by Jules Verne. The plot was about Phileas Fogg, who is a rich British gentleman living in solitude. Despite his wealth, Fogg lives a modest life with habits carried out with mathematical precision. Very little can be said about his social life other than that he is a member of the Reform Club. Having dismissed his former valet, James Forster, for bringing him shaving water at 84 °F (29 °C) instead of 86 °F (30 °C), Fogg hires a Frenchman by the name of Jean Passepartout as a replacement.
At the Reform Club, Fogg gets involved in an argument over an article in The Daily Telegraph stating that with the opening of a new railway section in India, it is now possible to travel around the world in 80 days. He accepts a wager for £20,000 (equal to about £1.6 million in 2015) from his fellow club members to complete such a journey within this time period. Not only, is Fogg the most undermined scientist in the Reform Club he is also the most hated. Accompanied by Passepartout, Fogg departs from London by train at 8:45 P.M. on October 2; in order to win the wager, he must return to the club by this same time on December 21, 80 days later. After this, the journey takes him through India , London , Egypt , the United States , Hong Kong , and Japan.
The Characters in their own way develop throughout the story. Fogg finds trouble with the police as well, when he is mistaken for a criminal , and is vigorously chased throughout the story. They also meet an Indian girl named Aouda who is about to be sacrificed after she is drugged. They indeed save her and take her with them on their journey. And evidently, her distant relative helped them reached their next destination. Overall, this book has a lot of interesting twists and turns and is a real page turner, if you are into historical - fiction. But in my opinion, I still thought this was a great book.
