One thing I Wonder about while I read the book is, how did bullying effect Auggie in the future? I wonder this because many people are effected by the way others treat them. I think Auggie was most likely effect because, you can not take back what you say. Other questions I had were, how was he treated by others before he came to school? and, how was his family effected?
I think the book made sense and was very easy to understand because, it shows many perspectives, this makes it easy to understand how everyone feels.

text to text: I connect the book Wonder and ghost because, they are both about kids starting to go to school/going to a new school. I also think they connect because, both kids are nervous about starting the school year.
text to self: A connection between this book and myself is, Auggie is very scared to start school, this relates to me because I am always very nervous to start the new year. Also I can connect to this because I have been the new kid before and, I know how scary it can be.
text to world: A connection I make with the the world and the book Wonder is, being strong, I connect this messages in the book wonder to the world because, Auggie always stays strong, I feel like the world needs more people with this strength

Things I can infer after reading this book are, after Auggie won the award and, made new friends, he didn't hate school so much anymore. I infer this because after reading the book, and in between the lines of the story it is easy to tell, Aggie is not a fan of school. Even though he isn't a fan of school for most the story, he slowly warms up to going to school everyday.

The passage that gives me the biggest visual is the last passage of the story "You really are a wonder, Auggie. You are a wonder." This gives me a big visual because so much is happened before this moment. In this moment the story seems like its in slow motion, it's as if the whole story is merged into one sentence. I love this so much because, it is a someone else saying something to Auggie he will never forget, this statement shows love, strength, and patience.

The main ideas of Wonder are family, friendship, bravery, difficulty, and being kind. I think one of the main ideas of the story is family, I think this because Auggies mom, dad, and sister (Via) help him get through everything. Another main idea of the story is friendship, I think this because Auggies friends (Jack and Summer) help Auggie not be totally lonely at school. The third idea I picked was bravery, I chose this because Auggie goes through so much in his 5th grade year, but he pushes through everything bad. Another main idea of Wonder is difficulty because not everything was easy for Auggie, he had 27 surgeries before he came to school, yet he still pushed through and had as much fun as possible. The final idea I picked was being kind, I think this is very important to the story because every act of kindness adds to the story, and makes a big difference in Auggies life.

Many characters change throughout the book, I will be explaining changes Via, and Auggie go through. At the beginning of the book Via is upset by the way everyone choice is Auggie, she also struggles to fit in at school, but by the end of the book her attitude about Aggie changes. Next, Auggie is very self conscious, but as the story goes on he accepts who he is, and learns to love himself.

I think the main theme of the book is beauty is on the inside not the outside. I think this because the way Auggie looked didn't stop him from getting friends, it didnt stop him from winning the award, and it didnt stop him from being strong. by the end of the story it is easy to see that inner beauty is what makes a person who they are.

R.J. Palacio writes in a very unique style, she writes as different characters throughout the story. Within the book she writes as Aggie, Via, and many more people, including Aggies friends and family. Her writing is also very easy to understand, and is written for kids my age.
