Last July I visited Norway, a country I had always dreamt of. Being summer, I enjoyed mild temperatures, though it’s advisable to be equipped with rain gear due to the risk of showers.

No sooner had my plane landed in Stavanger (one of the Norwegian most populated cities together with Bergen and the capital, Oslo), than my mind drifted back to the Viking times, when people lived mainly in settlements of farmers and traders.

I immediately started admiring the intense beauty of the country, which increased my eagerness for being in contact with its nature: spectacular waterfalls, deep fjords, and lakes of calm waters that reflect the surrounding splendour. All in all, a breathtaking spectacle that everybody should experience.

I should say that I will jump at the chance of going back, at the right time of the year for being privileged to witness one of the most magnificent and jaw-dropping phenomena on planet Earth: the northern lights.
