The gas bubbles are made from a new substance. My reasoning for this statement is if you look back to page 35 you can see what different what different substances create gas bubbles. Gas is a state of matter like solids and liquids, gas has gas particles that take up space. The first one was carbon dioxide which was created when the baking soda, water, and citric acid combined together to create fizzing and some gas particles.

The gas bubbles do not come from water, baking soda, or citric acid. The gas bubbles don't come from those ingredients because water is a liquid and baking soda, and citric acid is a solid, gas bubbles are gas. Gas can not be a liquid or a solid.

One claim we can make is the gas bubble are made out of a new substance that isn’t baking soda, citric acid, or water. 
some evidence to support this claim is since baking soda, citric, acid, and water are all either solids or liquids and since its room temperature, the gas comes from something different.  One important key model idea is property's and one property is state of matter.

The gas bubbles can not made out of the citric acid, baking soda and water. I know this because gas cannot be a liquid or solid. I also know that the gas is a new substance because it wasnt there at first because when we broke the bath bomb in half there wasnt any gas. Citric acid and baking soda are solids at room temputure and water is a liquid a room tempeture so that means it cant make gas. Properties don't change for a substance because the gas properties didnt change for the substance of the baking soda and citric acid.
