We have already defined some basic geometric terms and we will be using many more geometric terms throughout the year. Now, it is time to see where Geometry fits into the world around you.

You will choose 12 words from the printed QR code, at least 2 words from each of the six groups of words, to find examples of in the real world. The examples in the real world must be 12 original photographs. Your photographs must illustrate each term in the real world (Textbook-type clip art will not be accepted).

Your collection of terms will be displayed in a Padlet board. You will be given a QR Code to your group’s unique board. Each example should be large enough to easily identify the term it represents. Each example should also include a photo of at least two team members with the term the photo represents. Selfies are allowed, but the photo should emphasize the term being defined. You will use the app Skitch to ensure the term is clearly identified or outlined and to include the word and definition. Be sure it is neat and spelled correctly. You may use this “Example” board as a guideline, but your work must be original.

Grading Rubric

12 Examples (12 different original photos)—~3 points per picture that is identifiable—40 pts

12 Labels (term with definition)—~3 points per label that correctly identifies its example—40 pts

Neatness—10 pts

Theme— 10 pts

Total: 100 pts

Early Bird Bonus +5 pts
