Because I had difficulty on exercising for a long time, I must increase my physical strength as soon as possible.

Today was a little bit different from my other days. I increased the time of my exercise to 40 minutes so that I can put more variety into my future fitness plan. Still, in contents wise, there are restricted to the cardiovascular machines in the gym - of course, I started to feel boring about them. I allocated 10 minutes each for every machine in the gym. Starting from tomorrow, I am planning to add jumping rope into my basic exercise routine.

I forgot to upload the works that I've done for these few days. There have been several changes in my workout. Rather than adding the jumping rope, I decided to add biking to my fitness plan. According to Naver, the biking can release 300kcal in 20 minutes - which is more efficient than just walking in the gym. As well, the gym is closed for the fixing so for a few days until it opens again, I will probably mix the biking and walking correctly into my temporary plan.

Although I forgot to update this log book, I lost 3 more kilograms for these two weeks. I also made the muscle training as part of my training routine at the gym - at first, I felt weird to perform those exercises in the gym, but I got used to it.

Now, I am performing 15 minutes muscle training and 15 minutes cardio machine training (or biking, walking). Until October 3rd, the gym will be closed, hence I have to replace my training with biking or walking.

Fortunately, gym opened again in October 4th and I worked out in the gym again. Since I took a rest for a while, I had to recover again. Hence, I focused more on cardio exercises to ensure I have enough power back in my body as before October Break.

Although it seems like this log book is becoming more like a weekly log book, I worked out every day on Week 3 and 4 of October. The muscle training is working well and actually became the most enjoying part of my exercise. The interesting observation that I made this time is that I do not feel pain in my legs if I am concentrated on something else while I am running, even I run for 30 minutes - it is not as dangerous as it sounds like. Moreover, I am better if I pace myself using the intervals in the treadmill. I will reflect these observations to my future workouts so that I can be more efficient while enjoying this work out more!

Final Reflection on Fitness Program

Doing the personal fitness for four months was one of the biggest challenges in my life. I had to lose my weight to improve my health issues and liver status. As a student who hates all different kinds of sports, while loves eating various foods, losing the weight seemed impossible when I first decided to do so. Therefore, planning for my fitness program and goal needed quite a long time. I had to study how to create the fitness program, I had to get some help from my supervisor on building the plan that best fits my ability and current health status, and I even had to take care of my meal schedule based on the advice given by nutritionist. Doing these things, at first, was uncomfortable. I did not want to do those activities since it did not match with my lifestyle at all. However, every time I was about to give up, I reminded myself of the changes I will be able to experience when I finish this fitness program. I thought about the better future I can dream with better health status. This strong motivation allowed the fitness plans to get integrated into my life routine smoothly. For me, as I go through the fitness plans, it felt more like part of my life, rather than the task somebody gave to me. Furthermore, getting interested in and learning more about fitness even gave me the ability to change the fitness plan by myself (which supervisor agreed upon). Now, I feel proud that I was able to design this fitness program, modify the program to fit my life routine and achieve this plan as I expected in August.

Finishing this fitness activity, I learned many things about my fitness and myself. When I started the fitness, I was pessimistic whether I can run on a treadmill for even thirty minutes. Indeed, in the beginning, I had to stop every ten minutes to catch up my breath - which always made me feel I should give up. However, running on the treadmill almost every day started to make improvements in my running time. After a few weeks, I could run 20 minutes without rest, and now I can run 30 minutes without rest. Regarding the abdominal machine, I knew I was strong enough to carry many different heavy things. In fact, when I first pulled level 100 on the abdominal machine, it did not feel that painful to me. But, when I first tried to pull level 120 at the beginning of the fitness, I knew that I had to work on my abdominal part more - it was so difficult for me to carry. I am now satisfied that my efforts on the abdominal part of my body are reflected on my body and the fact that I can carry level 120. As such, there are many growths in my personal fitness through the exercises I completed through this fitness program.

Working out in the gym almost every day for this four months, there are many changes in my life (as I mentioned before). In 2018, I got a medical checkup twice - once in Shanghai in August and once in Seoul in December. I believe the comparison between two medical checkups will represent whether I succeeded in my fitness program. In August, the doctor made a note that I weight too much than normal weight and accordingly the liver may have severe issues; however, in December, the doctor told me that I only have to decrease 4-5 more kilograms to be on shape. As well, he suggested the liver issues will soon be resolved as I lose that 4-5 kilogram weight. When I heard this news, I was thrilled that I made an improvement in my life. I do not have to worry too much about the possibility of getting severe diseases or the worst case scenarios.

And that's why this fitness activity is so meaningful to me. It allowed me to have a healthier life and decreased the risk of getting any bad diseases. Furthermore, it implemented a healthy habit in my life, which is going to the gym every day to work out. Even after finishing this fitness program, I will still continue to work out to lose 4-5 kilograms (and probably lose more for May prom or graduation ceremony). I am confident my experience of losing weight and gaining health through the fitness program will be a good motivation for me in the future to continue to work out (especially in the cases where I hate to work out again).

For this personal fitness experience, I will try to work out every day, even for a short period. Not only just working out in the gym, but I will also make a fitness log book which I can share with the trainer. These days, I started to feel that my weight may one day cause the diseases or problem on my body. Therefore, the most important goal for this personal fitness activity is to lose weight. The trainer will only provide me with some tips on the fitness and check my fitness plan and progress. I will make the fitness plan by myself. I will also try to change my diet with the help of the professional nutrient. The success in fitness will not only be represented by the weight but also be checked by whether I achieved several goals that I set for myself.
