And she answered, 'I already have.'" (Goodman 39-41).&nbsp;<br>2.&nbsp; How does that evidence help establish that particular tone?<br>It establishes a nonchalant tone because it is just showing how the wife is already used to him always being gone.&nbsp;<br>3.&nbsp; How does that tone contribute to the main themes present in the story?<br>This tone helps contribute to the main themes present in the story because it shows how the man who died, Phil, has lost the connection with someone who matters most in his life, his wife. This is sad because he becomes so overwhelmed with his work that he doesn't take the time to try to reform any connections he had with people who really care about him. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1.&nbsp; What is the author trying to say about the obstacles that get in the way of success for certain groups of people?<br>The obstacles that get in the way of success for certain people is that they get so involved in having a job and they begin to forget about the things that are suppose to truly matter in life. Being successful is not only about having a good job, but it is also about having a family or a group of people who you can rely on. It is very important to have relationships to people, and not let other things get in the way of that. </div>]]></description>

What could love, the unsolved mystery, count for in the face or this possession of self-assertion which she suddenly recognized as the strongest impulse of her being!"<br>2.&nbsp; Analyze how the setting helps deliver the author's message.<br>The woman was first alone in her dark room and was mourning, but as she looked out of her window, she heard the birds singing and the saw the blue sky. This made her realize that she can now live a life of her own and be free. The setting shed light on her future life.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1.&nbsp; How does the situational irony contribute to our understanding of the themes present?<br>After her husband passed away, the setting is expected to be very gloomy and dark but Chopin makes it bright and cheerful almost.&nbsp; This foreshadows her thoughts.&nbsp;<br><br>2.&nbsp; How does the dramatic irony contribute to our understanding of the themes present?<br>Docters said she died of joy while she really died because all of her hope was torn away from her. It shows how restricted she felt even though the relationship wasn't abusive.</div>]]></description>
