The short-term goal that I discussed in class was to become a better student in every aspect of my education. However, I’ve recently decided to shift my focus to my true interests, particularly in exploring idioms and striving to speak French fluently. This change has come about because I realized that I was spending a lot of time and energy trying to excel in areas that don’t genuinely resonate with me.

For instance, I’ve never really enjoyed math. Despite understanding its importance and the benefits of having strong math skills, I found myself feeling frustrated and unmotivated when I tried to improve in that subject. I began to question why I should concentrate on something that doesn't inspire me or bring me joy when there are countless other subjects I am passionate about.

By redirecting my attention to what I truly love, such as mastering idioms and improving my French language skills, I believe I’ll not only enjoy my learning journey more but also become a better student overall. The excitement of engaging with a language and its expressions comes naturally to me, making it easier to invest my time and effort in these areas.

Ultimately, I want my educational experience to be fulfilling and aligned with my interests, and I think this change in focus will allow me to achieve that.

The short-term goal I discussed during class was my desire to become a better student in every possible aspect. I initially thought that improving my academic performance was my top priority; however, during conversations with my classmates and teachers, I received several perspectives that challenged my thinking. Many of them pointed out that I was already performing well academically and suggested that I might benefit more from directing my attention toward my personal life and aspirations rather than fixating solely on my grades.

They encouraged me to consider the broader picture of my development as an individual, emphasizing that personal growth often plays a crucial role in academic success. At first, I was hesitant to shift my focus away from my studies, but as I reflected on their advice, I slowly realized that they were right. There are indeed many aspects of my personal development that I need to address and nurture such as pursuing my passions, building relationships, and fostering my well-being that are equally important, if not more so, than my academic achievements.

This realization has been eye-opening for me. I’ve come to understand that being a well-rounded individual can enhance my overall effectiveness as a student. Balancing both academic responsibilities and personal growth is essential for thriving in various areas of life. As I move forward, I plan to dedicate time and energy to exploring my interests and dreams, which will undoubtedly enrich my educational experience. Ultimately, I believe that by focusing on becoming a better version of myself as a whole, I will naturally become a more accomplished student as well.

There were times when I struggled with laziness, which often led to a lack of motivation. I would find myself procrastinating on tasks that I knew I should be prioritizing, and this cycle became frustrating. Instead of pushing myself to get started, I would sometimes just sit back and let the day slip away without accomplishing much. It was as if I was caught in a loop of inaction, and despite my best intentions, I found it challenging to break free from that mindset.

Additionally, my schedule was not as organized as I wanted it to be. I would set out with the goal of creating a well-structured plan for my days, but I often failed to stick to it. There were moments when I would look at my calendar and realize that I hadn’t focused on my commitments as much as I needed to. This disorganization was partly due to my tendency to get distracted easily, which made it difficult for me to adhere to a routine. As a result, I would end up feeling overwhelmed and lost, unsure of how to manage my time effectively.

In those situations, I also found it incredibly difficult to ask for help. Whether it was reaching out to friends, family, or teachers, I often hesitated to express my struggles. I felt embarrassed or ashamed that I couldn’t manage things on my own, so I kept my feelings to myself. This reluctance to seek support only added to my sense of isolation and frustration. Looking back, I realize that it would have been beneficial to open up about my challenges and seek guidance from those around me. By not asking for help, I missed out on opportunities to learn from others and to find solutions that could have alleviated some of the pressure I was feeling.

Learning something new isn’t as easy as I initially thought it would be, nor does it come as naturally to me as it seems to come to others. I often catch myself presenting a confident facade, making it appear as if I have everything under control. However, underneath that surface, I feel a struggle to grasp the concepts and skills I’m trying to learn. Despite putting in my best efforts, dedicating time and energy to study, I find that concentrating on the material can be incredibly challenging.

It’s frustrating because I am genuinely motivated to reach the level of proficiency I aspire to, whether it’s acquiring a new skill for work, mastering a new subject in school, or pursuing a personal interest. I read articles, watch instructional videos, and practice regularly, but I still grapple with keeping my focus. My mind often wanders, making it difficult to absorb what I’m learning. When I try to recall information later, it can feel like it slips through my fingers, leaving me bewildered and disheartened.

I often wonder if my learning style is the issue or if I’m simply lacking the right strategies to enhance my memory and concentration. I’ve explored various techniques—note-taking, summarizing, and even self-testing—but there are times when none of it seems effective. It can be really discouraging when I feel I’ve invested so much effort and yet I don’t see the progress I hoped for.

This is not to say that I lack the desire to improve; on the contrary, my determination drives me forward. I want to find a way to make the learning process more effective and perhaps even enjoyable. I believe that with the right approach, I can overcome these hurdles. If anyone else has faced similar obstacles, I’d love to hear their experiences and any tips they might have. Understanding that this struggle is a common one could provide some solace. After all, learning is a journey, with its ups and downs, and maybe it's all part of the process.

Attending French classes from Monday to Friday provides a structured environment for learning the language consistently. Each day, students engage in various activities that enhance their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The classes typically cover grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, ensuring a well-rounded approach to language acquisition.

To improve your French skills I will Dedicate time each day to practice speaking and writing in French. This could involve keeping a journal or conversing with classmates. Also I will surround myself with the language by watching French movies, listening to music, or reading books in French. This exposure helps reinforce what I learn in class.

And finally using language-learning apps like Duolingo or Bussu to reinforce vocabulary and grammar through interactive exercises.
