Welcome back to the final half term of the academic year! It is hard to believe that we are already entering our last seven weeks before breaking up for the summer holidays.

Whilst this half term is always packed with exciting events , it is also an incredibly important one for our children. Over the coming weeks, a number of key assessments will be taking place. Our Year 1 children will be completing their Phonics Screening Check next week as well as Year 4, who will be taking part in the Multiplication Tables Check and our Year 6 children will be involved in writing moderation.

Alongside these statutory assessments, all year groups will be completing end-of-year assessments which help us to celebrate progress and ensure that every child is ready and prepared for the next stage of their learning journey.

Of course, it is not all assessments! We have a number of exciting trips and enrichment opportunities planned throughout the term, providing valuable experiences beyond the classroom. We are also looking forward to Sports Day, where I am sure the children, staff and families will be as competitive and enthusiastic as ever!

Talking of sport, we were delighted to welcome Sean Gaffney and his team into school on Tuesday for an inspirational visit. It was fantastic to see so many children pushing themselves out of their comfort zones, persevering through the fitness challenges and demonstrating resilience, determination and teamwork. There were certainly lots of tired legs by the end of the day but also plenty of smiles and a real sense of achievement.

A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who have already completed their sponsorship donations following Sean's visit. Your support is greatly appreciated and will help us continue to provide fantastic opportunities for our children. If you haven't yet had the chance to contribute, please do keep them coming!
