I smoothed everything out and made sure the edges blended into the water. I also ventilated the back of my wall relief.

This project represents my family and how my mom has been leading me and my twin sister. I got the idea of sea turtles from a trip we went on when I was younger to Hawaii. During this trip the house we stayed in was visited by sea turtles along the shore . We saw a larger turtle with two smaller turtles behind it and saw our family being represented. I decided to connect the fins of my turtles to show that they are all together and rely and count on the leader. This overall represents the guidance and strength my mom as provided for my sister and I.

Today I rolled out a slab and made it thick to be able to hold the shape of my bowl.

I finished cutting out all of the holes and it was ready to be placed into a slump mold.

Once i placed the bowl in the slump the walls began to crack and crumble. I had to restart my project.

I decided to switch gears and make a candle holder instead of a bowl. Here I formed the round shape and cut out a slab for the base.
