I think that they shouldn't and should, because

not all doctors have the same situation

so when a doctor makes a mistake it could be a big mistake or a little note mishap but, when your a surgen your mistakes better be small because then it might take someones life and that's a mistake that you can't fix. So all doctors shouldn't be and should because it depends on their situation.

It depends how serious the mistake is they shouldn't if it something that they can't control themselves but if it is their fault than they should be blamed because they could have seriously injured someone. It all depends on the circumstances. Usually I would say that they shouldn't be blamed because their all going to make mistakes at some time and their just humans. They should probably try to do something to make up for their mistake.

If it was beyond their control, then no it isn't. If it is something they never learned it isn't their fault either. However, if they just never payed attention in Medical School, and tell you that it won't be a problem, while they know they can't do it, then yes it is their fault. If they are performing heart surgery on you, and say "It'll be fine I know what I'm doing," while they've never done it before, and failed half of their tests, and possibly end up killing you, yes it is TOTALLY THEIR FAULT! However if it is out of their control, and they were going to die anyway no it's not their fault. (but they should be honest with you)

Although, if a doctor makes a big mistake, they should have to deal with the consequences. Doctors have to know what they are doing, especially during a surgery. The chances are small that a doctor would mess up because they have a lot of practice.

Think about it they have to memorize hundreds of diseases, remember all the medicines that can help treat it, what medicines help for what allergies and other medicines to help if the main one doesn't work. Also some doctors like surgeons have to know where all of the bones, organs, and muscles are. Plus they have to know how to fix the problems with the bones and organs.
