‏Al-Qarqa’un in Bahrain is an annual custom held in the month of Ramadan, where children go out on this night rejoicing, wrapping the “Al Furjan” and wearing new clothes that may be sewn for them specially for this occasion, and they carry bags with them in which they collect sweets and nuts that they get from the owners of the homes while chanting the well-known chant to us.
‏Children's clothing in Gergaoun:
‏Al-Bakhqq girls wear “the traditional dress of the girl in the old days.” It consists of: a black cover made of transparent “chiffon” fabric. Al-Bakhqq is decorated with some inscriptions engraved with golden threads, and a gold ornament called the crescent is usually placed. The girl's costume is different nowadays from the past, as the costumes have increased from traditional clothes and are available in many shapes and in bright colors.
‏For boys in the past, they did not have a specific dress, they wear the available clothes (the traditional dress) in addition to the (Al-Qahfiya) headdress. Today, the general features of the Gergean night have changed, as parents have increased their interest in decorating their children. Boys wear the sudairi and qahafiya, while others wear the daqla.
‏Gargaon Ingredients:
‏In the past, the ingredients of Gergean were limited to specific types of nuts such as: almonds, walnuts, walnuts, peanuts, in addition to some sweets and certain types of sweets. Today, however, the situation is different, as the ingredients of the Gergean have increased and the form of its presentation has changed, as it is presented beautifully and distinctively.
