~The Telegraph was a big part of the industrial revolution. The Telegrapher allowed people to send long distance messages to each other. Now, states could give curtail messages to each other without holding big meetings.

~This invention was not only helpful during this time period, but it also helped future time periods, like during war, soldiers sent each other messages though Morse code to communicate and carry out assignments far away.

~As the Lowell girls were some of the first working women in america, it was a very big cultural shift. It showed the prejudice men at the time that women were capable of leadership and independence.

~The Lowell girls who worked in the Mills were getting paid lower than men and they were mad. The girls fought for equal pay or a raise of their own. This act later caved way to be the first building steps to future activists as women realized their rights working in the Lowell Mills.

~The urbanization of Americans begins as farmers left for better jobs in the cities. The switch was pretty fast so older cities that were partaictly deserted expanded fast, growing in size.

~As the cities grew, attractions started to keep people busy and entertained, such attractions, included, stores with the latest fashions, circuses, museums and theaters etc.

~Even though the growth in the city was great for urbanisation, it was bad for pollution. pollution rises up and became a big problem. In the cities, people dumped their trash on the street and the coal from the factories poisoned the air, which was a big problem for future generations

~The mechanical Reaper revolutionized grain cutting, making the harvesting easier and more efficient.

~The Reaper lowered manufacturer costs greatly and freed farm labor, this was a great success as the new countries were struggling with costs of money so this helped by not adding too much debt. It also helped make way for slavery freedom in America

~One city, Lowell city, built small wooden houses and boarding houses for their workers, the Lowell girls and the new citizens. By building the houses more people were able to come expanding the city's profit.

~Lowell city was very neat and organized with better pay than most cities and job opportunities. Lowell became a model city and it led the way for other cities to expand too

~The Slater Mills were built in Rhode Island and was the first ever water powered mill in its time. The mill allowed many job opportunities for families, including children. It also sparked the idea of the Lowell Mills that helped lots of people in the 1800s.

~The creation of this mill inspired other creations and was the birthplace of the textile industry.

~Plows had already existed but they were very cumbersome. The lightweight plow was easier to use and was less of a nuisance to farmers. The new plows are made my smooth steel, so soil wouldn't get stuck to them, allowing farmers more time to farm.

~The farming industry was lifted up greatly and the farmers were able to work quicker and more efficient so they could ship the produce and make money quicker.

~During the 1840s the great potato famine was going on inside Ireland. Irish people were starving in Ireland so people came to America for food and job opportunities along with other people from other countries.

~The people who imragited need jobs so they went to the Lowell Mills, they didn't need to be payed much as they didn't care as long as they were getting payed which boosted the Lowell Mills profit and work efficiency

~Steam power was much easier for factories to use as they didn't need to build their factories near rivers for them to work. Steam power was powerful and had more horsepower than water run fixtures.

~The American industrial industry grew vastly. This significantly helped factories owners as they could enlarged their industries.

~Some children started working at the young age of 4, but in the Mills, mostly the Lowell Mills kids typically started working at 7.

~The Lowell girls were helpful, but they couldn't squeeze through tight spaces in-between the machinery to retrieve things that had dropped, but these kids were small enough too The children were very helpful for the industry as they helped the factory going evenn when things got stuck.
