We will grow foods and crops on the flat lands. To do that we will bring seeds to our village. Cleveland is right by the Great Lakes so we can use that water to grow crops. We will also farm animals, so that we can make food with the products they produce. By cutting down the trees, it will bring more sun to our crops so they grow better. Also, when the trees get cut down we can use it's wood to catch fire and boil water to make it cleaner for our cooking. The climate will help grow food also. It is not to hot and not to cold. The average temperature is Cleveland is, High: 65 and Low: 43.
Sources: Notes , http://growingfoodconnections.org/comminnovat/city-of-cleveland-ohio/
https://weatherspark.com/y/18154/Average-Weather-in-Cleveland-Ohio-United-States-Year-Round

Trees are a recyclable resource, and trees are a renewable resource if used the right amount. Trees are a renewable resource when they are put to use, but not all cut down because they have to grow more. Trees are used to build shelter which is important because shelter will keep the people safe and warm. Trees are used for paper which will be put to use by the people for writing, learning, and teaching the many generations to come. Trees are used in medicine which is important to have to keep the people from getting ill. Trees are used for fires which is important to keep the people warm when the climate drops and fire for cooking. The people will cut down trees to use around where they settle.
Sources: Notes, http://forestry.ohiodnr.gov/trees
Large Tree In An Ohio Plain

Cleveland Ohio is known for there huge amount of oil supply. Ohio is 8th largest oil producing state in the world. This is a great natural resource because oil supply's energy. Using oil will help us power machinery. The machine will be a water filter. The oil will power the filter which will help us get clean water by taking the water from the rives and when we put the water into the filter, it will filter out all of the bacteria bringing us clean water to drink so we don't catch any diseases. Oil will also help us with cooking. The oil will power our stoves so we can cook our meat that we find. It will also help power or stove so we can boil our water to make metal. We will find this oil by creating oil farms. We are going to drill into the ground and find small amounts of metal. Then we are going to boil the mental under it melts down into oil. Lastly we are going to put the oil into tanks for storage purposes

resource- https://case.edu/ech/articles/b/bp-america/

In Cleveland, Ohio there is perfect amount of sunlight for growing crops. The sun does not show too much but not to little. When we cut down some of out trees for wood and housing, more sun will shine in. We will find the perfect sunlight by, settling where there is an even amount of sun and shade. The sun will help the crops grow and will help us make a fire by taking glass and reflecting the light onto wood. The sun will also give us warmth. We do not want to freeze so the sun will help us greatly. The sun is not a renewable resource but unless the zombies get onto the sun and destroy it, the sun will be able to stay as long as our civilization would need it.
Sources: notes

Iron ore is a type of rock that has metallic iron in it. This substance is inside of the rock can be extracted to make metal. We can use this to create weapons. We will extract the metallic from the rock to make swords to use as weapons to fight the zombies. We will make swords because we don't need gun powder or bullets so it is easy to find the material for just the sword. We will find this material by mining for iron ore right by the Great Lakes. Then, once we find the iron ore we will extract the metallic iron from the rock to make swords.
Sources: http://www.clevelandmemory.org/glihc/oretrade.html

Some of our water sources in Cleveland, Ohio are dams and Lake Erie. There are over 5,000 dams in Ohio. When maintained properly, dams can provide many benefits. A few benefits are, using dams as, flood control, a water supply, recreation purposes and irrigation. There is a variety of dams, small privately owned dams to large federal government owned dams and, dams in parks and in wildlife areas. Materials needed to build dams are the following, timber, rock, concrete, earth, and steel. Lake Erie watershed homes 12 million people providing drinking water for about 11 million. Another one of our water source is also the Great Lakes which is north of Cleveland, Ohio. We will use the oil we get to power a machine that will filter water. That will clean the water so that we have it to drink without getting ill. We will also use the water for cooking. When boiling water we can make many things. Such as, rice, , grains, potatoes, soup, and the products we get from out farm animals.
Sources : https://www.epa.gov/greatlakes/lake-erie
http://water.ohiodnr.gov/safety/dam-safety

Also, Cleveland is near the great lakes which makes for a water source. There is flat fertile land and a good amount of trees and sunlight. Ohio also has many minerals for building weapons. We can also use those minerals for, building wells to gather water.
