Family Success Champion (FSC) Feedback by Katy Luke

I am not a hug fan of the FSC. I feel like it was one of those "Too many cooks in the kitchen" situations. Families did not understand who to reach out to, once the year got started. They had three "friends" their teacher, advisor, and the FSC.

I think they were useful to begin with... but when classes got going, it was a little much. I think the program should have been shorter than 12 weeks. Maybe a 4-6 week program would be more appropriate. Once things get more "VAVA specific", it is hard for someone who is not a VAVA team member to appropriately advise.

Created confusion with families and was another person in the mix giving information that they could not remember who they spoke with.

My team wasn't all that familiar with the role the FSC was taking on this year. We did find it a little confusing to have more people calling families.

I feel like this role caused some confusion for families and might've been more helpful for welcome calls before school started.

I found sometimes the FSC didn't know VAVA specific answers.
