Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes is the main detective. He is very curious and has many suspects. He suspects that the hound killed the Baskervilles. Or, someone set the scene up. He also is very observant and he doesn't ignore details. He found hints from the corner of a newspaper. His right hand man is Watson who helps solve mysteries with him.

Dr. Watson

Dr Watson is the narrator and Holmes' assistant. He is suspicious of the Barrymores because of when Ms Barrymore was crying. He is also suspicious of the cab driver because he said that he was Sherlock Holmes. He is the one who is investigating the Baskerville case. Also, he is trying to keep Henry safe from the hound.

Hugo Baskerville

He is one of the first to die from the hound. He was looking for a girl he loved and then he died. Some people looked into the hound's eyes and then they also died. He captured the girl he loved and then she escaped. He was also a very wicked man.

Charles Baskerville

Charles was the second of the Baskervilles to die. He was on a walk and he apparently died of cardiac arrest. He had a bunch of health problems like anxiety and heart issues. But, a few feet away from his dead body were big large paw prints. He was a very wealthy man who helped build some of Dartmoor.

Dr Mortimer

Dr Mortimer was the one who was the doctor of Charles Baskerville. He is the one who saw the hound's paw prints a few feet away from where Charles collapsed at. He also came to Sherlock Holmes with the Baskerville cases. He suspects that the hound killed the Baskervilles. He couldn't go to the Moor though because he had to go to his wife.

Henry Baskerville

Henry Baskerville is Charles Baskervilles son. He is staying protected by Mortimer, Holmes, and Watson. He went to the Moor to explore and see why his dad died. He got his boot stolen at a hotel and he still doesn't know who did it. He is 30 years old and he has dark hair. He suspects that the hound killed his family members.

John Barrymore

John Barrymore is the butler of the Baskervilles. He lied to Watson by saying his wife wasn't crying last night. He wants to leave Dartmoor because he is old and now that a very laid back and old man died, he would have to serve a young and impatient person and he doesn't want to deal with that. He also helped Henry and Watson get settled. He could have been spying on Holmes because he has a big beard and that's one of the spy's traits. He snuck out of the house in the middle of the night stealthily. He stared out into the Moor for minutes and finally went back in.

Mrs. Barrymore

Ms Barrymore is the Baskervilles maid. She is married to John Barrymore. She was heard by Watson in the middle of the night crying. That next morning her eyes were red and they knew she was crying. She got her hands on a telegram that was for Mr. Barrymore because he was in the loft.

Selden

Selden is the escaped prisoner from Princetown. He is called the Notting Hill murder. Holmes took interest in this case. It is also close to where Henry and Watson are staying.

Jack Stapleton

Jack Stapleton is a naturalist. He lives in Merripit House. Jack Stapleton is brother of Beryl Stapleton. He is able to get across the Mire without getting killed or injured. He seems to know the moor very well and likes to talk to people.

Beryl Stapleton

Beryl is Jack Stapletons sister. She is beautiful and unlike anything in Dartmoor. She warned Watson to leave because she thought he was Henry. She clearly knows that Henry is in danger since he has had so many family members killed there. She is trying to protect them from something.

Mysteries

One mystery that we are trying to solve is: who's killing the baskervilles? I say this because everyone assumes it's either a natural cause or it's the hound. But which one is it really?
Another mystery is: Who is spying on Watson and Holmes? Also, why are they spying on them anyways? Does he know something they don't?
A final mystery we are trying to solve is: Why was Ms. Barrymore crying in the middle of the night? Was she hurt or did something bad happen?

Leads

One lead I have is that Beryl Stapleton knows something that we don't. I feel like she wouldn't tell Watson any of that information unless if she felt like someone was going to be harmed.
Another lead I have is that Selden will come back and maybe murder someone. I feel like that since this is a mystery book they don't put random characters into the text.
The last lead I have is that Mr. Barrymore is hiding something. He was outside one night just staring into the moor and then came back in. It was the middle of the night and I don't think anyone would do that unless if they knew something.
