1. ABC Mouse
2. The app supports those that are in the ages 2-7 years old. This is to help support and facilitate their learning in core curriculum. These are games that help carefully plan their learning.
3. I would love this as a way to make sure that the students are have fun while learning. This can make it so that the content is less intimidating and more approachable.

1. SAT Math: Geometry and Measurement Lite
2. The app supports the SAT prep for those who are preparing in college (14-18 year olds). This supports who may need more math practice.
3. I would use this in the classroom if I were a math teacher. When I was in my Geometry class in the 9th grade, I was very uninterested in the material. If the teacher introduced the material as relevant to college and I had easier access, I would have paid more attention and performed better.

1. EasyBib
2. The app supports those who need help with citations.
3. I would definitely encourage the use of this app if I were an English teacher. Of course I would teach MLA and APA styles, and I would teach them the differences. This app is just a supplementary way to encourage students to use sources. When I was in high school, I would use less sources because I wouldn't want to get marked down for bad citations.

1. Oregon Trail
2. This app will provide an interactive experience for children learning about the Oregon Trail and how decisions had to be made. It also puts the history into perspective. For example, food was a prevalent problem and these people couldn't just walk to the fridge to get their food.
3. I would love to use this app if I were a History teacher. This can make the history more interesting and more relatable.

1. DuoLingo - Very game-ified app to learn language! You need headphones or your class is going to be noisy. When you get answers wrong you either need to pay or redo lessons you've already completed. But it is fun, and it sets up a system where you just do 10, 15, or 20 minutes a day. You get rewards for sticking to it!

2. Memrise - Another app to learn language. Similar to DuoLingo, also very game-y, but there's a sci-fi theme, and the more vocabulary you build, the bigger your pet alien gets, which I guess makes sense. I like the art and design of DuoLingo better.

3. DocsTeach - A digital version of the National Archives. It is only US primary documents, but it is still a pretty cool resource. The main purpose is to help students learn how to engage directly with primary documents, and start to actually think like a historian / social scientists. You can create lessons and activities through the app or website that can then be published, shared, and completed by students.

4. Oregon Trail: American Settler - Total garbage timesink game with little educational value, designed to maximize microtransactions.

1. Anatomy 4D, Sub-app "Visual Anatomy Lite," which is free. Provides approximately 40, hi-def, color, rotating human anatomy drawings. You can click on little pins to get the names and functions of hundreds of nerves, muscles, organs, ligaments, etc. One drawback that would make purchase of the full program a good idea: the rotations are not continuous but only 90 degree views. Still, excellent for a basic anatomy course.
2. Sentence Builder (free version). This is an elementary school-level game that has you build fairly complex sentences using a list of specified nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, punctuation marks, prepositions, objects, etc. Each part of speech is separately color-coded. It is fun and teaches basic sentence structure.
Excellent for English language learners. BTW, the "Expert" level flummoxed even me.
3. Storyrobe (costs $0.99). This app. allows you to add a short story, written annotation, or audio narration to accompany a picture or video taken on your mobile device. The app automatically grabs the photo from your device, obviating the need to move files around or link to different photo apps. Storyrobe then allows multiple people to form groups where they can post and share their photos and videos. This would be great if a class went on a field trip to the same place, and created a share site with their annotated photos. Limited functionality, but highly useful in a setting like a field trip.
4. Moleskine Journal (free). Didn't load.

This app uses augmented reality to help younger students with letter recognition. There are a number of themed flash cards to choose from. It is necessary to download the letter flashcards separately. Using the device camera, students will scan over the flashcard and a 3D image of the word associated with the letter will appear on the screen. I think this would be a great learning activity for early elementary students who are learning their letters and would find this kind of interactive learning exciting.

This is an app where teachers can communicate with parents and students via text instead of emails and handouts, which I think is pretty cool. I feel like nowadays everyone is always on their phone and checking their texts, and rarely anyone checks their emails as often or handouts. It's cool because you can also send audios, photos, and videos. It would be useful in reminding students about assignments or if there is a classroom change that day, but it would work better with higher grades and students would actually have to have phones.
