         <description><![CDATA[<div>Shear and heat are generated in the tyre as a result of the contact between the tyre and the road surface; both of these processes result in the creation of wear particles. Shear forces cause a high number of tyre particles to be released. Heat builds up on the tyre's surface, causing hot spots that reach temperatures high enough to allow the volatile content to evaporate, resulting in the emission of relatively small, submicrometer particles. Shear forces and heat in the rubber cause road wear particles to cling to the rubber wear and tear in addition to tyre wear and tear. According to certain studies, the majority of tyre wear and tear is combined with road wear.</div>]]></description>

When the clothes are washed in the washing machine, microplastic pieces will be washed off from these pieces of clothing, and move through a sewage treatment plant. However, the filters inside are often too large to stop them from passing through and flowing to a discharge point at a nearby marine habitat. Once they reach the ocean, they will be consumed by plankton and other aquatic animals. It will then pass through the food chain and humans will end up consuming microplastic. </div>]]></description>
