I feel the pianist is expressing a sense of happiness, It sounds like a very larger than life piece, like a great gate. The music relates to the artwork because the artwork appears very big and grand which is exactly how this piece sounds. it was made by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky. it was composed in 1874. The piece was created for Mussorgsky's friend Viktor Hartmann who died. The piece feels like it is expressing a rapid and grand Gate. Title:Landscape with Houses (Dutchess County, NY) #1. I feel the artist is expressing a happy neighborhood. The piece's mood comes of as very happy like nothing could go wrong. The things that inform my interprettation are the bright and colorful houses and most of all the lighting, the way the sun and shadow look make the piece look very innocent and nice.
