The has seen a huge lost to human life and I&nbsp;<br>long the day that I can come home and see you all once again. Until that day comes I want to update you on what's happened and a few words to you all.<br><br>Life here is challenging and im currently here in the trenches of Regina writing this to you in the dead of night. I just couldn't have imagined the horrors of being in the front lines. But my dear Elise, you've been a major inspiration to me and I just want to say " Thank You". You've always been so resource full and I you'll take care of our family well in these difficult times<br><br>Amelle, I miss you so much and I cant wait to come back to the days that I can hold you in my arms again. Your mother has been sending me letters about your accomplishments and I want you to know that daddy is really proud of you. Im sending this on the night that we won and I want to say that I miss you alot.<br><br>Being a polit is not all the glamour and hope all the stories of Wop May makes it sound, but im fine with that, just knowing im doing this for a good cause and a better future for our family is all that I need.<br><br>The comrades I have are remarkable. Grappling with the lack of basic necessities like food or water, we hope you can provide government subsentence to uphold this bright community.<br><br>Many in this community have just settled here from Europe and without a taste of hope were drenched in the despair of the depression not being able to get the simplest of items like food or housing.<br><br>We Plea that you can provide some funding into this community as we longed for affordable housing initiatives and clothing drives to ensure that our childern would be warm through this winter. We know the difficult request that you are being flooded with right now, but we urge you to provide funding so we open a community kitchen and food bank to alleviate the thought of uncertainty of even getting fed.<br><br>As we all face this difficult time, we remain united and are determined to build a brighter future. The neighbors&nbsp;hood is bright and many of its residence are immigrants from France coming to seek a better life. Saint-Roch has a&nbsp;French speaking population and is the main motive of the Dufresne's moving here.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Many Canadians from the Canadian Expeditionary Forces had been sent here to hold the line against&nbsp;German attacks. The Trench is about 5 miles long and is in a zig zag formation to prevent the lineup of soldiers from gun fire. Alois was sent here to the Northern part of the trench and future would take fight in the battle of Sommes.</div>]]></description>
