I learned by watching YouTube, those music tutorials where you see the keys you have to play.

These are: stringed instruments, wind instruments and percussion instruments. The antecedents of the piano can be traced back to the harpsichord, the harpsichord or the dulcimer. 
But if we go further back in time we reach the monochord.
