Jacob Riis was a notable American newspaper reporter, social reformer, and photographer. He worked for New York Tribune. He did a series over the lower east side of manhattan. The reason he did a series over that was because the living condition were bad. He found out that they were so bad that the death rate was 1-10. So he would take pictures of what was happening and write articles and publish them in the paper. Later on in life he wrote books over topics like this and more.
- Lilah Serrer
