The first step to mastering the Hidden Curriculum is to recognize it and understand how it can influence your learning. Ways that you can recognize the Hidden Curriculum is to educate yourself by reading the class syllabus. By doing this you are preparing yourself for what kind of learning structure the instructor is going to provide. For example, they may require chapter readings before class that will not be gone over in class, but instead elaborated on, so this influences that you need to read ahead of time to understand the foundation of the lesson. 
The next step is to figure out how to work around the circumstances to either take advantage of any benefits, or to remove any roadblocks. This means that in order to participate in the Hidden Curriculum you need to prioritize your time wisely and plan accordingly. Make time to read the chapters before your class, and evaluate if your understanding of the text. There are many examples to the Hidden Curriculum, such as the things that are taught throughout the hidden curriculum.

-For example, punctuality, respecting authority, respect for others opinions, and even having a work ethic.

when they mentioned the example, textbooks, and how they leave out the violence in the books. Including the fact, that they might even use leaving out violence to their advantage, and creating false positive outcomes for the textbooks. 

-A third and final example, is when a teacher/professor gives out a certain assignment.
