The Hidden Curriculum is one of current controversial curriculum issues. The reasoning behind it being controversial is that it had has good impacts, and bad impacts on the students without the teachers being aware of it.

How to Master in Hidden Curriculum

There are two steps to master the Hidden Curriculum:
The first step to mastering the Hidden Curriculum is to recognize it and understand how it can influence your learning. Ways that you can recognize the Hidden Curriculum is to educate yourself by reading the class syllabus. By doing this you are preparing yourself for what kind of learning structure the instructor is going to provide. For example, they may require chapter readings before class that will not be gone over in class, but instead elaborated on, so this influences that you need to read ahead of time to understand the foundation of the lesson.
The next step is to figure out how to work around the circumstances to either take advantage of any benefits, or to remove any roadblocks. This means that in order to participate in the Hidden Curriculum you need to prioritize your time wisely and plan accordingly. Make time to read the chapters before your class, and evaluate if your understanding of the text. Take note of what areas you need elaboration on, that way you are prepared to ask during or after class.

The hidden curriculum, or otherwise known as the invisible curriculum, is important to understand for an array of reasons. Understanding the hidden curriculum helps a student become better at understanding what is needed of them and how they should react to situations in a class. Students with an understanding of the invisible curriculum are also able to assess what is important in the course along with understanding directions from teachers, behaviours in the class, and group work.

Including the fact, that they might even use leaving out violence to their advantage, and creating false positive outcomes for the textbooks.

-A third and final example, is when a teacher/professor gives out a certain assignment. Than further expects the students to be able to adapt to the assignment given.
