a.    I enrolled in BAS-IST program because I wanted to have a well-defined knowledge base of what IT was, also I wanted to have a high-level job in IT as well. 

2.    Where are you from?

a.    I am originally from Gainesville, FL. I have lived in many different places though both in this country and abroad.

3.    What do you hope to take away from this class?

a.    I hope to gain some great knowledge about securing the wireless network. I know some things like 802.1x and port-based security but I would like to know how things are implemented full fledged in an enterprise network. This could help when I take my CCNA exam this semester.

4.    What is your future goal?

a.    I want to get away from the help-desk as much as possible and possibly become a CIO or CTO at a big corporation and possibly own my own side business one day. 

5.    What you of job are you seeking?

a.    I am currently seeking a position in networking in hopes to become a network engineer one day.

6.    What interests you? Hobbies?

a.    My only interests are really technology driven. My hobbies consist of building and breaking Linux boxes and trying new open source software. I just finish building a virtualization server and implemented an OwnCloud VM. I am now working on DNS and VPN VM’s.

2. I was born in Tennessee and moved to Gainesville FL where I lived for about 16 years. Then I moved to Newberry for another 14 years, and now I been back in Gainesville for a year.

3. I hope to take away from this class a better understanding of securing wireless network as well as mobile network.

4. My future goals are before I graduate in 2022, I plan to earn the CompTIA CySA+ and Pen Test+, CEH, MCSA in Windows Server 2016, MSCE in Core Infrastructure, and CCNA certifications.

5. I plan on working as a Network Administer, Network Engineer, Network Security Analyst, or Cyber Security Analyst.

6. New and old technology interest me (still kicking myself for selling my Atari 2800 and games when I was a kid). My hobbies are spending time with my wife and kids, keeping up with new technologies, binge watching TV shows and movies (when I can), and gaming solo or with my family (just got my wife hook on Minecraft and now all 4 of us play together).

I was born in Gainesville, FL raised in Live Oak, FL. I've lived in Florida for most of my life but stayed in Atlanta for six months while trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. 

3.. What do you hope to take away from this class?
I hope to learn more about mobile devices and how to secure them.

4. What is your future goal?
My end-game goal is to eventually work as a network or security administrator at my current employer or pursue a role as an IT supervisor or manager. 

5. What you of job are you seeking?
Right now I am seeking a Senior Tech position or the role of a security administrator. 

6. What interests you? Hobbies?
I enjoy playing video games, watching movies/TV shows, fishing, the beach, gym time, and listening to music.

I enrolled in the BAS-IST program So that I can learn about computers as well as learning how programs interact with computers. I hope to one day to use the knowledge I learn here to create applications!

I am from Florida mostly, living in many different cities, I have lived in almost every single state because of my military family. 

3.    What do you hope to take away from this class?

I am hoping that I learn different aspects of security and how they relate to mobile devices and the different operating systems that have requirements in order to run applications on said OS.

4.    What is your future goal?

\y future goal? I would say I hope I become either a programmer or an IT specialist in a big corporation or my own company where I can create software.

5.    What kind of job are you seeking?

I honestly don't know, I like computers and I am really good at programming so I thought I would become a programmer or something like a database administrator. I just want to have a job where I can rise out of poverty and make a difference in the world, a major impact.

6.    What interests you? Hobbies?

I mainly play video games, watch anime, or spend lots of times with friends and family. Computers interest me and I love learning stuff about them, I can't understand all of it though. I have thought of developing applications for phones like mobile games and what not but I hear it is not a very lucrative business.

I'm originally from Miami but I've lived all over Florida

3.. What do you hope to take away from this class?
I would like to learn more about software security. As a programmer, it's good to learn the risks and how to prevent future attacks.

4. What is your future goal?
My goal is graduate with my degree in Programming then develop software as a hobby or a career.

I would like to be a Database admin or another job related to databases. I'm not really sure what I would like to do yet.

I like to play video games in my free time and make video games. I also like learning about other cultures and traveling. I love food so I spend a good amount of time trying different food and looking up recipes to cook.

Kentucky and Tennessee, some people don't believe me when I tell them this.

I want to add on to what I've learned from previous security classes.

4. What is your future goal?

That is a difficult question, I thought I knew (wanting to do something with google) but things change so I'm not to sure.  Maybe continue getting promoted at my current job.

none at the moment since I've recently been promoted at my current job.

Virtual reality and playing games.

I am interested in learning about mobile security.

I've actually already achieved my goal of running my own IT company.  I suppose my future goal would be to expand and grow my business as much as I can. 

5. What kind of job are you seeking?

I am looking to continue down my path of being an IT Consultant. I've been a Consultant of my own company since 2004.

6. What interests you? Hobbies?

Depends on the day and/or what's going on in the world. For example, I love travelling, but have been unable to for awhile now. Cruising and travelling the world are two of the things I enjoy the most. Locally, I would say TV and movies, billiards, or just enjoying good company with friends. Also, if time permits, I may partake in a PC game or two.

Detroit, but I have lived in Gainesville since I was 5.

3.. What do you hope to take away from this class?

I want to learn more about mobile security than I currently do, which isn't really that much honestly.

4. What is your future goal?

I want to progress in my current field as a full-stack software developer .

5. What kind of job are you seeking?
I want to continue working as a full-stack software developer. Currently I specialize a little more on front-end than back-end development, but sometimes I just need to move some data around to stay sane after spending all day working on UI/UX and styling.

I game and read mostly. I used to go out to new restaurants once a week with friends to try new things, but, well... I also hike on occasion and take the time to walk my dogs a few miles every day.

I hope to learn more about security when it comes to the mobile devices that we all use on a daily basis.

I wanted to further my potential career path and get a better understanding of the technical topics that are more in depth with this degree.

I am from Titusville, Florida and moved to Jacksonville Florida to go to school. 

3.      What do you hope to take away from this class? 

I have taken networking courses that go into depth about various topics for desktop and laptop computers, but never anything going into depth about mobile devices. I hope to leverage the networking and security courses that I have previously taken to be successful in this course. 

4.      What is your future goal?

My future goal is to eventually become a Network Engineer. I think that it’s important to have a good understanding of security for all types of devices on a network, and I think phones are probably one of the least secure devices that you can have on a network. You have no idea what sort of applications that an employee may have on their personal device, so it’s good to understand what sort of risks the company/technical departments need to combat against. 

5.      What kind of jobs are you seeking? 

I think the very first job I would like to have would be some sort of help desk position. In that position you can begin to understand the very important fundamentals when it comes to the technological field, and that’s where I’m going to be looking for my first job. 

6.      What interests you? Hobbies? 

I love to learn, game, hangout with friends, and cook. I find new technologies fascinating and try to learn as much as I can about the various topics. My favorite video games would probably have to be Rocket League, League of Legends, and Valorant. My favorite thing to cook would have to be homemade Mac n Cheese.

I was born in Wurzburg Germany and lived there for a few years. I then moved to Inverness Florida and lived there until I was 19. 

 

3.. What do you hope to take away from this class?
The biggest take away would be to further my understanding of networking and have the ability to work autonomously in the IT field.

 

4. What are your future goals?
A short term goal is to obtain a few certifications like a few CompTIA and a long-term goal would be to finish my bachelor’s degree and use it. 

5. What job are you seeking?
A job I seek is one with some independence and some room to grow. A job that allows you to do a little innovation and allows you to maximize efficiency in things that are being used currently in the work place.

I mostly play video games with a few of my friends and I hang out with my wife.

I was born in Colombia and moved to Jacksonville, Florida almost 8 years ago. Duuuuuuvaaal!

The in-outs of IT based business and how they became so prominent in the 21st century.

Acquire my Comp TIA certifications first and then try and land a job in an post-Covid era.

I would love to work for the government or anything related to the military.

Build Gaming computers, Play guitar/piano, 3D Printing, Archery and recently tabletop miniatures and microscopy.

Video games mostly with a honest like of model railroading but if it wasn't for the size requirement would be one I would actually partake in.

I am from San Antonio Florida, a small cow-town about 20 minutes from Tampa.

3. What do you hope to take away from this class?
A better understanding of how security for wireless networks differs from other networks. Especially how to secure a network with different hosts on it at any time.

4. What is your future goal?
To get a job as a part of a red team or purple team and perform penetration testing services for organizations. Marry my current girlfriend of four years. Escape the Florida heat.

5. What job are you seeking?
I just got a great job at Emerald Data as an IT analyst, I would like to keep this for roughly two years and then pursue penetration testing.

The more I learn about myself the more I enjoy learning about things I didn't think would interest me. While I am bad at arithmetic, I really like learning from my friend about high level math concepts. My most recent hobby has been lock-picking.

I haven't taken too many security classes so I am excited to learn more on the subject as a whole.

Current future goal is to complete my BAS in Spring and possibly get my Masters from USF after.

Currently I've been looking at network administration jobs but I haven't explored too much in terms of jobs post masters.

I am very involved in the car industry as I am a salesman. I really enjoy going back to Tampa /Clearwater/St.pete for the beaches though.

My future goal is to complete a BAS so I can finally stop being a student and transition into independent, project based, learning.

I've recently gotten back into fishing and kayaking to help get me out of the house.

I’ve always had an interest in technology and wanted a degree with a useful skill set. BAS-IST program seemed to be the perfect fit.

Technology specialist position just opened at UF Health. I'm hoping to get this position.

I like free diving at the local springs when the weather is nice.
