This stage is the third stage in Piaget's 4 stages of cognitive development and occurs around the ages of 7-11 years old. this stage is characterized around the development of organization and rational thinking. it represents the coming of age and how children are able to think more hypothetically. in our example we showed 2 phones, one larger and one smaller, and allowed the "child" to pick which phone they would rather have. This represents how the child uses rational thinking to choose the better phone that offers more for them.

This is the second stage of Piaget's four stages concerning a child'scognitive development. This stage occurs between the ages of 2-7. Within this stage children begin to use objects as symbols to play. In our example we used a circular container to represent a drum. This represents how a child begins to engage in symbolic play and learn to manipulate symbols.

This is the first stage of Piaget's four stages of cognitive development. This sage occurs from birth to age 2. At this stage, babies have no object permanence. In our example we played peek-a-boo and the "child" reacted with excitement as the person playing peek-a-boo reappeared, when you hide behind your hands the "child" thinks you have disappeared, so when you come back they are happy.

This is the last stage of the four stages from Piaget's cognitive development. From the ages 11 and on shows how the child develops abstract thinking skills. In our video we demonstrated a complex math equation being solved. This shows that the abilities to use abstract thinking and problem solving is developing correctly.
