I'm going to try and give my students more choice in data collection as it relates to student choice. I also want to think more about the goal of an assignment outside of "because they have know it for regents." Make it more enticing for our students with clear purpose. I want to continue working our rubric.

I think i'm taking away a lot. Looking at giving students more choice in lab work/ mini labs. giving students more agency around grading other students.

I may try having them evaluate one another's work. I liked the suggestion of having them look at rocks blind folded. I took away that all of us are struggling with the same ideas and topics and how to develop this cross-curricularly, and interestingly, and meaningfully, while also keeping in line with how they students are being evaluated and our various time constraints. I think it was really helpful to look at other work (and it was nice that it was both in line in the same subject) to see how to address a real time problem and find other ways to address the problems that we all have.

I will go over with students what constitutes relevant and sufficient evidence as a model - I'll use my last PA extended response question. We will be conducting a permeability and water retention lab that will require both quantitative and qualitative evidence from the experiment.
MODEL THEN DO.
