I believe that Satrapi wrote this book because it shares her personal stories and it sheds light on her people and country. It shows both the good and bad that Iran has. It showed that they can be normal and civil people and that there is only a select few that are radical. I believe that she wrote the book as a graphic novel because it gives people a visual of her writing not just words. It brings the book more to life.

I think she chose to write in this visual way to really depict the emotions that her and her people felt during and after the revolution and war.

Since she has a passion for creating art I feel it is no suprise that she would want to share such a personal life story through something she loves like drawing.

Writing about her story could be a way of reflecting on her past. Describing her story would be more difficult to understand, and images help her emotion get across from color values to facial expressions illustrated.

I think that Satrapi decided to write this book to speak on her life and her culture. She wanted to show the difference of life between the west and the middle east. To compare and contrast the different values and ideals that everyone holds. I think it was a good idea to write her book visually as it let her express her experience through the different visuals whether it be humor or something sad.

I believe Satrapi wrote this book because it shares his personal stories and highlights his people and country. This shows both the good side and the bad side of Iran . It shows that they can be ordinary people, civilians and only a select few are progressives. I think she chose to write it in a visual format because it was easier to express what it was like for her.
