For the first question, my point was confirmed, even though there were opposing sides, because I felt that I justified my point by explaining how the truth and a lie can blend together, and make a gray area, which was a part of most of my classmates' arguments, in some way. Mrs. Pagano's example about the media made me think differently. I realized that different trends, whether it be fashion or skin care, are set sometimes based upon a lie. I still do believe that no matter what a lie will always be a lie, but it becomes a bigger lie that other's fell for, like the placebo effect.

My viewpoint on the government spying has become complicated. In public areas, it is understandable why there are surveillance cameras, but in one's private home the country should not spy on citizens because it is unethical.
