I have two brothers.  My older brother is named Dusty and he lives in Dallas with his wife and my nephew, who is a senior this year and is attending his high school virtually.  My niece is a sophomore in college at Texas A&M.  My younger brother's name is Mason and he lives in Texarkana with his wife, Genie.  

After I graduated high school, I got my bachelor's and master's degrees in English.  I started teaching high school when I was only 21 years old.  It's hard to believe that this will be my seventeenth year teaching.   I have taught at a lot of schools in my career:  I started in Fouke (a really small town outside of Texarkana), I moved to Arkansas High School, and then I taught at the University of Arkansas Community College in Hope for a number of years.  I moved to Hot Springs eight years ago, and this is my 8th year at Lakeside.  I teach Spanish and English classes here.  I have one daughter, Ella, who is six years old and is going into the first grade with Mrs. Warren at the primary school.

I learned to speak Spanish by taking classes in school, but my brother’s ex-wife was also fluent in Spanish and I attribute the majority of my knowledge of the language to her.  I love to travel and have visited Spain and Mexico, but my favorite city that I’ve ever visited is Paris, France.  I missed out on taking a vacation this year because of the pandemic.  In my free time, I like to read, plant flowers, and stay active in the community however I can.

This year will be very different - none of us are accustomed to teaching and learning fully online.  Last year, we Zoomed - this year, the content will be pre-recorded so that you can work at your own pace.  What I can promise you is this:  I will work with all I have to deliver the strongest content knowledge possible and I will always be glad to be here and glad that you're here, too.  I'm attaching a picture of me and my daughter Ella.  I'm looking forward to reading your letter of introduction and virtually "meeting" you all!

I can promise you this:  No matter what your skill level is entering this class, if you do your part, you will see an improvement in your ACT scores on the English and reading sections.  I look forward to working with you this year. I have two sisters. My older sister is named Taylor and she just graduated from highschool and moved out to live with her boyfriend and his family. My younger sister is in the eighth grade and her name is Emily. Emily is just now getting into the high school building and she was nervous about me embarrassing her in public but I would never do that. Yet.

About 10 years ago my parents got divorced and my mom got remarried about a year ago to a mister Matthew Hargrove. Matthew, or Matt is what most people call him, has two sons named Matthew Hargrove Jr. and Daniel Hargrove. Matthew is the older of the two and is 13 years old and attends Lake Hamilton high school. Daniel is 12 years old and also attends Lake Hamilton high school.

When I graduate from high school, if I graduate high school, I would like to go into the welding industry. The school that i want to go to is called Tulsa Welding School and they teach you how to ya know weld. The reason why I want to go into welding is because I heard that welders make good money. My step dad talked me into welding because he told me about the money and that it was relatively easy. 

 

 

I have 3 Sisters and 2 brothers. I am the baby in the family and it definitely has its perks. All of my siblings range from 27-35 in age, I know it's crazy. My family is all very close with each other even though everyone is living their separate lives. We still all make time to visit each other.

At home it's just me and my mom and of course my puppy Chevvy and cat Miss.Kitty. Recently my oldest sister moved all the way from Michegean back home and we are very happy about that. Also my grandma is living with us while she sells her house so we have had really good at home meals recently. Me and my family have lived in the same house since I was born, even when I moved to Conway we had it rented incase we ever decided to come back home! 

Some of my hobbies are to hang out with my friends and to go to work. I really spent every minute of summer I could with my friends ( wearing masks of course) and made as much time as I could for fun activities. I also really enjoy waking up and going to work. I love making money and being able to spend it as a reward as well as saving. I will never be tired of working 3 jobs and I continue to be on the grind until I have a career.

This school year should be very interesting because it is something different for all of us. I personally enjoy being at school and I definitely was ready to be back, but with the virus and having to change a lot of our daily routines it has definitely been very different. Eventually this will be the new normal and we will all adjust but for the meantime all we can do is try to stay safe and wear our masks at all times! 

I have seven siblings, two brothers and five sisters. Both of my brothers live here in Hot Springs, one of my sisters lives with me, one lives in Alabama, one lives in Louisiana, one lives in Texas, and the other one lives here in Hot Springs. I have two snakes, both of them are Ball Pythons. One is a female and her name is Medusa, the other one is a male and his name is Hercules. I have four dogs, one is a female pitbull named Jade (she is very energetic), one is a male half beagle half bloodhound and his name is Red, one is a male half Teacup Yorkie half Chihuahua and his name is Little Guy, and then Zeus is my seven week old puppy. He’s a bit of a weird breed, his mom is half Rottweiler and half Lab but his dad is a coyote.`

I love watching football, especially the Cowboys. I like to go hunting, fishing, camping, etc. I really just enjoy being active. I love hanging out with my friends, when we all get together there’s no way to know what might happen. My favorite food is pizza, yes that’s an average food but still my favorite. One of my favorite things to do is just take a walk when it’s nice outside and just clear my head. I take a second to forget the negatives, think of the positives, and move on.

I just recently got a “new” truck and I’ve been driving it a lot, these gas prices don’t go down either. I spend most of my time with my family/friends and my girlfriend. Tomorrow, August 29th, will be our eleven months. She also attends Lakeside High School with me as a senior.

This is my senior year and It’s not going to be like any other year of school. I’m deciding to go all online so that I can manage my time easier. After high school I plan on going to NPC for my basics. After that I may switch to a better school/learning program for welding. Then hopefully I can get in working with my brother-in-law.
