Reading Rut

In middle school I didn't really read much at all, I would rather play video games or go outside and I couldn't focus on any of the books I tried reading.

My Favorite Book

The summer before my first year of high school, I listened to an audiobook of The One and Only Ivan with my mom. Later, I got the book version, and it made me want to read more. This is a picture of my own beat-up copy of the book that I've read over 15 times.

On a Roll

After reading "The One and Only Ivan" I was constantly begging my grandpa to bring me back to the bookstore so that I could get new books.

School Library

When I started public school, I would have my dad drive me to school 40 minutes early every morning so that I could go to the school library and read or look for new books.

Fantasy Genre

My favorite genre during this time was the fantasy genre, and almost every book I read was a fantasy book.

Senior Year

When I moved to Richmond, my senior year of high school, I slowed down on the amount of reading I was doing and only read about one book a week.

Audiobooks

After I graduated high school I started to get more into audiobooks and I would listen to one almost everywhere I went.

I now really only read a physical book every once and a while, but I will keep one on me almost everywhere I go just in case I wanna read before class or when I'm on a long car ride somewhere. Currently, I'm reading "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath.

A Change in Genre
