For my English 1102 class, I will be interviewing you in order to complete a profile essay. The information gathered in the interview will be shared with my classmates, my professor, and be posted on an online blog. You may choose to remain anonymous and can refuse to answer any question or stop the interview at any time for any reason. This is completely voluntary. The interview will be conducted using audio and video recording. I will be asking questions about your life to give the audience an idea of who you are in general but will focus on your life before coming to the U.S. and the citizenship process. He and I both are grown married, have full-time careers. I have an almost 3 year old, he has 2 kids of his own, plus a foster child. Time is definitely a precious commodity so I can't exactly come up with a specific set of times. We could do it during the week one night after all the kids go to bed or perhaps try it at some point next weekend. I will have to call him and see what his schedule is like this week. There is also a slight chance we could meet for lunch one day this week and do it then if I happen to be working down near where he works but I won't know that until the day of. I will also see if he has any pictures or items he would like for me to include or that I might find interesting. I have a list of 15 questions to ask. Most of them are open ended and will allow me to potentially pick up on something and get him to elaborate. This means there may and probably will end up being more questions that are not on the list. The "base" questions are listed below along with an explanation if I feel that it is needed. The questions are also listed in order but that order is subject to change.
1) Who is Diego?
2) How old were you when you moved to the U.S.?
3) Tell me about Columbia. Where in Columbia are you from?
4) How did your parents tell you y'all were moving? Why did they move?
5) What were your thoughts and feelings when you found out?
6) What was moving day like?
7) How long did it take to adjust to moving to a new country?
8) What shocked you most about American culture or society? (Some countries eat certain things that other countries would find appalling)
9) Describe the citizenship process.
          How long?
          How much does it cost?
          What is the citizenship test like?
10) How useful is the knowledge required to pass the test? (see below meme to explain this question)
11) What day did you officially become a citizen?
12) What was you first "Official American Moment"?   
13) Do you miss anything about Columbia? If so, What?

15) If you had the chance, would you change the way anything about how everything transpired?
