I used to collaborate with a professor at my college. I was his assistant professor, I was writing my thesis with him and doing a research about climate policy. So when I quit on my thesis because of I decided to get my degree by an extra semester, he dismissed me from all the projects that we had.
I wouldn't have changed my decision.

I used to work in a lab at a research institute, after a few weeks I started noticing some red flags, my supervisor was very intense and volatile. Other researchers in the same lab were always talking behind each others backs. The environment was really toxic. After I finished my practicum I had the opportunity to continue with my research project and write my thesis but I decided to leave. I had to find another lab to do my thesis research and I spent several months searching for one but in the end it was worth it because I found a better place. One day I ran into a former lab partner and she told me I had made the right decision and I was lucky I got out. So i was glad I trusted my gut and moved to a better lab.
