As of now, we only used the senses. We are going to use tools like cameras to observe and record our chosen place. Our group can also use paper and pen to record and gather important information.

List how many of that living thing was found: I cannot give an exact number. UP Diliman is a healthy environment for all living things because of its surroundings. There are a lot of trees and different plants, even insects/animals. And since mosses can grow in a moist environment, we can see a lot of mosses. 

Honestly, I am contented with our research area.

Dr. Reynaldo and I have long black hair, a big laugh, and we both love reading. However, our age, nationality, place we were in, and other hobbies were different. He loves running, and I don’t.

Yes, because I believe that it would be better if the team used different senses to obtain a lot of information about the living things in our research area, but the pandemic brought limited chances for us to observe more. Besides, we must be aware of our safety.

In terms of tools, Dr. Ximena used drones underwater and flying drones above water. Also, she used camera straps, GoPro camera, microscopes, rulers, scales to capture, identify, and measure the underwater living things, and she used machines to record sounds underwater. While Dr. Reynaldo used a handheld magnifying glass to look at very small parts of leaves and flowers. He has a camera to capture living things and important details. Also, he brings measuring tape and a cell phone with him. 

The team can use cell phones to capture living things, record information about seen living things, and record the noise by recording applications, if there are any. However, we are all in quarantine, so I think online access and websites are convenient.

List how many of that living thing was found: I don’t have any information about the exact population of Subfamily Salticidae in UP Diliman. But there is a possibility that there are a lot of jumping spiders on campus.

As UP Diliman has various living organisms, I still wish to have more kinds of living things, so we can explore more about plants, animals, fungi, and bacteria. Also, having a lot of these may indicate that a certain area is a healthy environment. On contrary, having plenty of living things might not be healthy and be harmful to the ecosystem.

b. Definitely. I noticed that our observations were limited to what we saw and heard. It would be great to add more observations using our other senses.
c. They used devices in order to observe things that cannot be observed by their naked sense organs. For example, they used cameras to magnify things, and also to observe things in a large scale. They also use machines to record sounds underwater, and measurement tapes.

b) What I may want to and to our record is how systematic their use of their senses to observe and gather data on the different living things.

Additionally camera traps that record sound underwater, GoPro cameras, microscopes, rulers, and scales were utilized to gather data and observe them again offshore. Reynaldo primarily used handheld magnifying lens to look at the small parts of flowers or leaves that were not visible in the naked eye. Moreover, measuring tapes and cell phones were also utilized to gather data and observe them again right after.

d) We may use measuring tapes, rulers, and cell phone because those are easily found within the households and are within our budget as students while the others are professional equipment that are specifically used for intense research and are therefore expensive.

b) I do not wish to have more kinds of living things because adding more might disrupt the balance in the ecosystem. At this point, the UP Diliman campus can sustain on its own with the present living things that reside in it. If more species will be added, competition will thrive in the community and this might lead to the endangerment of species that are only present within the campus since the past. Despite that it may look pretty or seems like adding a new species is a good idea, doing so may do harm than good to our ecosystem.

b) Since the team was scattered around the campus, this lessens the possibility of encountering the same species many times. Surely, there were living things that could be found many times but there were also a lot of living things to choose from that minimizes similar chosen species.
