1. What was something new or thought about in a different way that you learned this week and why?
- There wasn't much that we dove into this week but one thing that stood out to me was the social contagion theory. The theory shows how connected we all are and that those connections can stem from 4th to 5th to sixth party and so on.
2.Based on best practices, how can you apply what you know in you career choice as a Health Promotion Manager?
- It is important to keep up to date with the latest scientific literature as well as the best practice for anything pertaining to our health. We need to make sure that we are staying up to date so that we can provide the best practice/care for our clients.
3.What do you want to learn more about, and why?
- How to connect to peoples emotions in a way to market myself, as well as to be able to connect with individuals deep enough that I can effectively help facilitate behavior change in an individual.

Why do I/we want to be an Influencer?” and “Who do I/we want to influence?
- I want to be an influencer because I want to help people. I also love being the leader and having people look towards me for guidance. I like the pressure of being an influencer/leader because it forces me to grow and become a better person every day
- I want to eventually be able to influence people that struggle with weight loss and struggle with the mental hardships that come along with that.

1. How can you interpret the information presented so far in the Influencer book to reflect on this statement? What principles help you agree or disagree with the statement?
- To me this statement means that creative and powerful ideas have great potential to change the world and make it a better place, but without influencers that have the ability to influence people to act on these ideas, these ideas are essentially worthless. We need influencers in the world to help people make positive change!

2. What is your vision of wellness using the principals promoted in Workplace Wellness that Works book? Use Putnam's to imagine what is possible to create an innovative wellness program.

My vision of wellness is holistically working toward a better self and better health. I think we need to start by understanding what drives people and what makes them want to change. I think that it is possible to create wellness programs that strictly focus on changing ones identity they have for themselves. With a changed identity comes change in thoughts and behaviors.

How would you use Putnam's ideas of "Creating Meaning" for the population you are targeting in the topic for your Genius hour? As the opening states, we have to help them know their "WHY." What of the many ideas presented this week help you get buying from your group?
- Within our community we will start each participant off by asking them what their why is. We will do this by asking them 5-7 times so that we can help them identify their deeper "why." In addition, we will focus heavily on motivational interviewing and coaching. We will focus more on asking question so that the clients/participants can figure out answers on their own versus us just telling them what to do. This will be effective because the participants will come up with their own answers which will make them feel more connected and bought into the system because they came up with the idea and answer to the problem.

Spectrum health focuses on 3 vital behaviors to influence people and the culture of the organization. Those vital behaviors are:
1. Take responsibility
2. Make it safe to hold crucial conversations
3. Be accountable, hold others accountable
In my journey to be an effective influencer I think that all of these vital behaviors can help me to improve. As an influencer I should always take responsibility for situations that don't go right. If something is not going as plan then I didn't do my part to effectively influence people. I should also be receptive to other peoples opinions so that I can create a better culture environment. In addition, I should always hold myself accountable, but also hold other accountable for their own actions and not hold their hand through whatever they are trying to do.
